Telecommunications is a Division of Information Technology Services.  Telecom is responsible for all telephone connectivity at Kennesaw State University, with the exception of Student Housing.  This connectivity includes all moves, adds, changes and repairs, as requested by departmental personnel. Telecom is also responsible for the acquisition of pagers, as well as obtaining proper approval for purchases of cell phones.

Working closely with departments, Telecom will coordinate all telephone moves, changes and new installations, to ensure all requests will be made to the advantage of your area.  Requests for new lines or moving of phone lines from one building to another, requires a minimum of 7-10 working days.  The requesting department will incur BellSouth charges.  Moves within a building can be done within 3 working days, once the move form and departmental approval has been received.

To schedule telephone, computer and furniture moves, please complete the Telecommunications/Computer/Moving Services form and fax to ext 6903. Per CIO Policy, please do not move computer equipment belonging to KSU.  If requesting a telephone move only, please fill out the Telephone Move request form, signed by the department head and fax to ext 3266.

To report telephone, voice mail or pager problems, please call ext 6029, giving us the ext, location and a brief description of the telephone or pager problem.

Telecommunications is also responsible for all of the voice and data cable installed throughout Kennesaw State University. Telecom works closely with Plant Operations Facilities - Planning and Design, to ensure that the proper wiring infrastructure is provided in new and renovated buildings.  Extensive time and effort has gone into cable installations in an effort to bring KSU current for upcoming technology changes.
