Before you begin, decide whether you would like to put potential virus e-mails in a folder or in the Trash. If you decide to move them to a folder, you must create a folder before creating the Rule.
- Click on Tools > Rules
- Click on New button

Rule Name ( ex: Virus Attachment Rule)

1 - When Event is Section
Make sure New Item is selected and Received is checked.
2 - Item Types Section
Select the Mail option by clicking in box.
3 - Define Conditions (optional) Section
- Click on Define Conditions button
- Click on drop down arrow on Include entries where… field
- Click on All Fields... (located at the bottom of the list)
- Click on Attachments option
- Click on ok button
- Click in the contains field and type .pif
- Click on the button that says End which will display a list of options and click on Or option
Repeat above steps (choosing Attachments from drop-down list) so that rule shows up as follows:

Upon completion of above steps, click OK.
4 - Then actions are Section
You can choose to do several different options. We would like to suggest, up front, that you choose to have these e-mails automatically sent to the Trash. If you open these e-mails, you can possibly infect your system. However there are a few options.
An example screen is below.
To Auto-Delete these e-mails:
- Click on Add Action
- Click on Delete/Decline
- Click on OK and don’t add any information in Comment field.
- Click on Add Action again
- Click on Empty Item
- Click on Save
To Send to Trash without emptying item immediately:
- Click on Add Action
- Click on Delete/Decline
- Click on OK and don’t add any information in Comment field.
- Click on Save button
To Move to a Specific folder:
- Click on Add Action
- Click on Move to folder
- Then choose the folder you desire and click to check the box next to it.
- Click on Move button
- Click on Save button
Then you may delete the e-mail at your option.

Once you have selected the Save button, your screen should look like this:

Make sure the rule is selected with a check mark
- Left-Click on Rule name to highlight
- Click on the Run button.
- Click OK
- Click on Close button
Deactivating Rule
There may be an instance when you would want to turn the Virus Attachment Rule off momentarily.
- Click on Tools > Rules
- Click on check mark next to the Rule (Virus Attachment Rule), so that the box appears blank.
- Click on Run button
- Click OK
- Click on Close button
