After following the KSUwireless connection instructions, if you are still unable to connect to the KSUwireless, here are some possible solutions:
Wireless card driver issue?
Check the date on the wireless driver by following these steps:
Security encryption is incorrect
Check to see if your PC is using WPA-PSK and TKIP, not AES. (Updated drivers will help support WPA encryption)
Check to see if your PC is using the Microsoft Client or a different client (i.e. Intel Proset) to manage wireless. If it is using a different client, change it to be managed by the Microsoft Client.
Check to make sure that the Operating System, if it is Windows XP, is updated to Service Pack 2. Please visit: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx
NOTE:
If you have tried all of the steps above and are still unsuccessful, the KSU Service Desk will need to check your “Mac Address” to see how your PC is connecting to KSUwireless. The following steps will help you find your Mac Address:
- Click Start -> Run
- Type cmd in the run box
- From the command window that appears type ipconfig /all
- Your MAC address is listed as your physical address
