Activating your web account requires only that you have a UNIX shell account. If you are a Faculty or Staff member, You will need to contact service at x6999 to have a KSUWeb account setup. If you are a student or alumnis, you can sign up for this free account on-line. Once you have your UNIX account, all you have to do is follow the simple instructions found below. No matter how you choose to telnet to your respective machine, these are the mandatory steps to follow to gain web access.
*NOTE: This process is applicable ONLY to members of the faculty, staff, alumni, and student body.

1. Once you secure shell (ssh) into your respective machine, you will need to enter your login name. If you don't know what your login name is because it is a new account, you can visit the FAQs page to see what your initial login will be.
2. Next you will have to enter your password and press "enter." If you don't know your password, visit the FAQs page to find out your initial password.
   *NOTE: For KsuWeb users only - Your password is usually different from your Novell password. If you are still having problems with logging on, please contact the service desk at Ext: 6999.
3. Once you have entered your login name and password, you have logged on the system. When you enter the system, you will see the "Message of the Day" and then the Atlas or KsuWeb prompt. It should look like this:
   KsuWeb[1 ]/home/user
   %
4. To set up your WWW account, you need to type "wwwsetup" at the prompt and press "enter".
5. The "wwwsetup" program will display the guidelines for your WWW account, and give you a choice to either accept them (yes) or deny them (no). If you select "no" to the terms, this program will terminate. If you select "yes", the program will proceed to create your account and then display an address where you can find a README file to get you started. In addition, the README file will be copied to the your home directory and can be viewed by typing "more README" at the KsuWeb or Atlas prompt.
6. If you selected "yes" then congratulations! Your account is now set up for web access.
