Q. What if my instructor uses WebCT Vista and I do not see his/her class?
A. Verify from your class schedule that you are registered for the correct class. Verify that the CRN of the course matches the CRN on your schedule. If you have recently registered for a course, it may take more time than the regular WebCT due to the new process of uploading. It will take 24-48 hours after registration before you are added to the WebCT Vista portion of that course. Additionally, your instructor has a choice of the older version of WebCT or Vista for summer and fall semesters 2006. Be sure to check with him/her about which version they chose to use.

Q. What if I am unable to take a quiz?
A. If you are having problems with a quiz under WebCT (such as not being able to save answers or not being able to submit the quiz), try the following:

  • Check the browser settings - see our WebCT Browser Help Page.
  • Don't change the size of the quiz window - this is a known problem with WebCT, and will cause the page to fail to indicate that the question has been saved, even though it has.
  • If these don't work, reset the disk cache and restart the browser.
  • Cut off Popup blockers.
  • Firewalls may also be set to interfere with Vista.

    How to reset the cache
    • In Netscape (Windows or Macintosh), from the Edit menu select Preferences, then go to Advanced, then Cache and click on "Clear Disk Cache".
    • In Internet Explorer for Macintosh, from the Edit menu select Preferences, then go to Web Browser, then Advanced and click on "Empty Now".
    • In Internet Explorer for Windows, from the Tools menu select Internet Options, then go to General, and click on "Delete Files".
