UNIX is an operating system that is the standard choice for the Internet. Once you learn a few of the basics of UNIX, you will enter a new level of computing power. An operating system is a program that deals with a number of things including the hardware, the users, and the applications on the system. More than half of the computers that connect to the Internet run some form of the operating system called UNIX. UNIX is a command-based operating system, which was not created with user-friendliness in mind. Instead, it was created to be functional, powerful, and robust. If you would like more information on UNIX, or a quick reference of UNIX Commands, we have provided a couple of links that you can explore.
